One on One Driver Training
Lead instructor, John Kwong has been racing karts since 1981 and continues to be a top contender in club and regional racing to this day. He decided to share his knowledge several years ago and began coaching other local racers.
KARTOPRACTOR's John Kwong has all the necessary technical equipment to help measure and improve the driver's performance. Through several different approaches he can figure out where to get your lap times down. First, he will go through your kart set-up with you and discuss what you feel the kart is doing or not doing. On track, he will evaluate your driving lines and then set out target cones to re-establish your lines. From here, he can put the GoPro camera on you and see what is going on when you are on track. Any video files can be emailed to you for further review later.
Coaching & tuning rates are $60/hour with a 2 hour minimum plus 1 hour for travel time.

Our Coaching Works! After several coaching sessions early in the race season, first year karter, Evan Pruss, continued to improve with lower lap times, higher finishing positions and better consistency. At the end of the season he was awarded the CKRC Senior Rookie of the Year for 2019 by guest trophy presenter and CKRC Alumni, Parker Thompson.
Evan had this to say, "EvanPrussRacing Thank you John Kwong. It's because of you that I was able to receive that award!"

Ryan Carruthers - Shifter kart pilot
"Thanks again for the help on Thursday. You’ve renewed my desire for shifter racing. The kart feels so much better and I’ve been able to increase my corner speed and the turn in/mid corner oversteer is gone!
That awkward feeling clutch lever we put on gave me the best starts I’ve had all year too.
I had 3 - 53.4’s in the final on Sunday and they came at lap 11 and 12, so with some more seat time I’m confident I can keep cutting them down.
My best lap ever had been 54.4 before Thursday. I managed one 53.2 and consistent 53.4’s this weekend. For the price of a set of tires we cut a full second off. Money well spent!"
